HENKA (変化) POTS__
Henka is a conceptual series of brutalist-inspired pots defined by a unique, process-driven approach. The name Henka, derives from the Japanese word meaning “change” or “transformation,” reflecting the system’s capacity for variation within a consistent framework.
The design employs slip casting with modular, stackable molds. Each mold section is engineered to rotate independently while maintaining a sealed cavity for casting. This allows the layers to be rotated through a full 360 degrees, giving artisans the ability to create an infinite number of unique arrangements. The result is a totem-like structure where every piece is distinct, yet tied together by a cohesive and uniform aesthetic.
